Back Running

On Monday of this week, I joined up with my local running club for my first run since the marathon.  I haven’t run with the club for a few months and the clubhouse has now moved from the adequate rugby club to the spectacular rowing club – a very nice venue to meet up.  There I chatted with a few other runners that had taken part in the Flora London Marathon the previous week, and mostly exchanged stories about the heat!!

The run through town and the riverside park was great, and included some challenging hills.  Because this was only going to be a 4-5 mile run, I really enjoyed relaxing into the running and getting my legs moving again.  4.36 miles and 36 minutes later, I was back at the clubhouse having knocked out a solid 8.5 min mile pace.  This was probably the shortest run I have done in about 3 months and left me wanting to do a bit more – I should have left the car at home so I could have jogged the 2 miles back home!!  I’ll try to do that next time.

Awesome! Sounds like a good run and it’s always a good feeling to feel like you can run more than you have!

You’re a runner addict now. Before you know it, you actually will leave the car at home.

As running goes its clear from the content of your blog that you are on top of you game and your passionate about this sport. Thanks for sharing with me and giving me additional inspiration. I too am in the process of writing about my fav pastime and in this process I am aiming to give some honest reviews of products that are out there in the market, already used for the sport. Thanks James
